Dietary Aide

 

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Dietary Aide to join our team. The Dietary Aide will assist in the preparation, serving, and delivery of meals to residents, ensuring that each individual receives food that meets their dietary needs and preferences. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and cleanliness.

Located in Lewisburg, PA, Oak Glen Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility dedicated to helping residents achieve their fullest potential. Qualifications

Requirements of the Dietary Aide position:  

  •  

    Previous experience in food service or healthcare settings preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of basic food safety practices.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Dietary Aide

 

• Meal Preparation Assistance: Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating meals according to dietary plans and recipes.
• Serving & Delivery: Deliver meals to residents in a timely, professional manner while maintaining a friendly and supportive attitude.
• Dietary Restrictions: Ensure that each resident receives their meals according to their specific dietary needs and restrictions (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, gluten-free).
• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Assist in cleaning kitchen surfaces, dining areas, and food service equipment according to health and safety regulations.
• Stocking & Inventory: Help with stocking and organizing food supplies, ensuring all food is stored at appropriate temperatures and conditions.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food served and assist in ensuring that menus meet the nutritional requirements of residents.
• Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, dietitians, and nursing staff to address any dietary concerns or special requests from residents.
• Customer Service: Provide courteous, respectful service to residents, and assist them with their meal needs as required.
