Qualifications

Requirements of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA): 

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Current state COTA license.
  • Current CPR. 
  • At least one (1) year experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities at once. 
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the position. 
  • Must successfully complete a Post Offer, Pre-employment Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) you will work under the supervision of a Registerd Occuptaional Therapist to help individuals regain independance and improve daily living skills.

 

  • To assist in the planning, organizing, developing and delivering of occupational therapy services, in accordance with current applicible Federal, State and Local Standards, guidelines and regulations. 
  • Provide individual therapy services according to care plans
  • Assist in developing therapy plans for residents in conjunction with MDS
  • Keep OTR informed of any need to adjust therapy plans and to support goals
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implemenation of occupational therapy services
  • Interview, educate and communicate with residents, family members and SNF Staff
  • Teach and educate residents on adaptive equipment and assistive devices
